Red Kite Barn's guest book

Here are our guests' reviews of Red Kite Barn

“The RKB is truly the most idyllic and perfect location to get away. If ever there was a place to take your dogs off the lead it’s here! We loved every minute of being here and intend to return to this haven of chill ASAP!”

John Askew, 10 November 2017

“We have had a lovely few days here and really enjoyed the solitude. The wildlife proximity was great, sheep at the doors, red kites above and a well-fed fox which ran past our window. On the first night we had a bat make an appearance inside the house, did a few fast loops and then disappeared. Our dog loved it - he sat at the window watching the world - but it would have helped if there was an enclosed area. Overall a lovely place which with a few more finishing touches would be even better.”

“We had a lovely weekend staying with our family for a birthday celebration. The solitude and silence was instantly relaxing, even for the dog. Beautiful barn and stunning scenery, we will definitely be back for a longer stay.”

Karen, David, Sam, Ellie, Megan ( and Poppy the dog), 21-23 July 2017

“We had a fantastic week. Stunning barn and views! We loved the projector screen, it was a hit with the family. An amazing place to recharge the batteries. Thank you very much.”

“Fantastic secluded barn in a perfect location. Enjoyed every minute of it so private and blissfully peaceful. The barn had everything you need to get away from the normal busy life, and lots of nice walks to do with the kids & dogs; a brilliant all rounder. Just what we needed. The red kites flying around was nice to watch and all the sheep and wildlife made it even better. Thank you for having us we will be back!”

“So peaceful, relaxing and everything in-between. The RKB had it all! We went out most days and recommend checking out the Elan Valley, Brecon and Worms Head at Rhosilli Bay…all worth a visit…and for the evenings in, then you must check out the cinema screen/projector, it’s amazing, a big hit with us being film buffs. A great stay.”

Jamie, Tracy & Stanley Baines, 16-22 June 2018

“The holiday was a good one with the beauty of Wales outside the windows. The home cinema was a real fab experience. Our dog Charlie loved the open plan design and ran about until he was worn out. He enjoyed the streams & ocean for the first time. The peace here is a rare treat from the midlands.”

Mr & Mrs Foley-Thomas and Charlie the Dog, 22 February 2018

“What a joy it has been to stay at RKB. It’s just one of those places that makes you feel happy! It’s clear that a great deal of thought, energy and passion has gone into creating this unique and special space. Whilst it has the benefits of feeling remote and peaceful, it’s really not far away from civilization if you need a fix! There’s a massive Tesco about 15 minutes drive away (Llandrindod Wells) plus we found a good place to hire bikes (Bikes & Hikes, Talybont-on-Usk, Brecon). Have a great holiday.”

“A gorgeous barn in equally beautiful surroundings, RKB has been the definition of tranquility. We’ve a wonderful stay, with the highlight being the falconry experience from Hawksdrift. Thanks.”

The Partis Family (Oxfordshire), 25 October-1 November

“Lovely barn in wonderful place! We loved the sheep! Unluckily they didn’t seem to notice our presence much… We had a lovely weekend and hope to be back soon.”

Stefania & Stefano (De Cymru), 14-17 November

“We have enjoyed a very peaceful weekend here in your lovely barn & enjoyed rejuvenating walks in the area. Hope to return soon! Thank you.”

Stephen & Philippa, 28 November-1 December 2014

“Wonderful way to spend half-term. Very special barn so beautifully converted - a real treat. Projector & pool table a real hit with teenage sons & helped offset the lovely autumnal walks we dragged them on! Not overly impressed with the New Inn or Red Lion both of which, we walked to - don’t mind basic pubs with basic food but not terribly welcoming. Elan Valley trail was stunning. Other than that felt no need to venture forth when such a gorgeous spot here!"

The Snowballs, 24-28 October 2016

P.S could do with a reading lamp or 2!

“Had a wonderfully relaxing honeymoon in the barn, enjoying the perfect isolation. Beautiful walks in the valley & some spectacular views to be had. Equally enjoyed staying in, watching films & reading. The perfect end to our wedding. Thanks!”

Mike & Gem (Ely, Cambs), 18-23 December 2016

“Amazing house! We loved the space, isolation and watching films on the big screen. Great spot for walking and we’d recommend the beach at Borth (about an hour’s drive). Thanks for the top welcome pack too. Cheers.”

Tom & Foz, 3 July 2017

“We have spent the last couple of days in the tree tent and we are rounding it off with the luxury of the RKB! We’ve enjoyed being frugal beasts in the woods but also hooning, music and drinking Sangria by the fire! Beautiful location, many laughs had, many philosophies learnt! Thanks for everything. Until the next time.”
